LG Display  has introduced a 5.5-inch QHD (Quad High Definition) IPS display panel for mobile devices. LG display has confirmed that the new Quad HD LCD panel will be unveiled with the forthcoming LG’s flagship smartphone to be launched at the end of the month. It is clear that the LG G4 scheduled to be unveiled on April 28th will use this display. Even the LG G3 used a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, but this will offer richer and more accurate colors with a 120 percent color gamut, compared to the 100 percent gamut that was present in the LG G3’s display , says LG Display.
It offers a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 resolution and 538 PPI (Pixels Per Inch) pixel density on the 5.5-inch panel size, same as LG G3’s screen, but the company did not reveal thickness or bezel size for the display.  The contrast ratio is 50 percent higher than conventional QHD LCD panels and the brightness has increased by 30 percent without any increase in power consumption, making it easier for users to view the smartphone display in bright outdoor conditions, says LG Display. Renowned testing firm Intertek has officially certified the results for the superiority of the color gamut, brightness, and contrast ratio.

Airtel has launched 4G services in Moga, Punjab. Airtel had already launched 4G services in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Phagwara, Kapurthala and Patiala in Punjab, this becomes the 11th town in the state to get Airtel 4G services.
In Moga, Airtel customers can access 4G on dongles and Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers) and mobile phones. It home Wi-Fi CPEs  costs Rs. 2500 and comes bundled with a host of affordable 4G packs/plans.

Apple has reported all-time record revenue of $74.6 billion with a record net profit of $18 billion in their earnings for the financial year Q1 2015 that ended December 27, 2014. Revenues were up 30% and earnings up 38% year-over-year. The international sales in this quarter is 65% of the quarter’s revenue, up 5% up compared to last quarter. Apple sold a record 74.5 million iPhones, compared to 23.4 million over last year, representing 46% growth, 21.4 million iPads, compared to 26 million year-over-year and 5.5 million Macs during the quarter.
Revenue from developed countries were up 20% and revenue from emerging countries up 58% in the quarter. The performance of Greater China segment was impressive, with revenue up 70%, said the company. Considering iPhone, unit sales were up 44% in the U.S. and up 97% in the BRIC countries. iPhone sale doubled year-over-year in China, Brazil and Singapore.
Quarterly sales of iPhone exceeded $50 billion for the first time ever. On average Apple sold over 34,000 iPhones every hour, 24 hours a day, everyday of the quarter globally, said the company’s CEO at the conference call. He expects Apple Watch to begin shipping in April.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 3 smartphone in India back in July. It temporarily discontinued the smartphone in August, but it brought back the smartphone during Diwali in limited quantities for those who tried to buy the smartphone and failed earlier. When everyone thought the Mi 3 would not be available anymore in India since it permanently discontinued the smartphone, it is bringing back the Mi 3 for the last time on January 26th.

Xiaomi Redmi Note went on sale earlier this week on December 2nd, and it sold out in 6 seconds in the first flash sale. Xiaomi usually stops selling the earlier models temporarily to concentrate more on the new model. Now the company has decided to bring back the Redmi 1S, at least for a day. Xiaomi has announced that the Redmi 1S will be back on sale on December 8th, Monday.
Registrations are not required, so it will not be a flash sale, but the sale will end once the stocks are out. The company has not announced how many smartphones would be available or at what time the sale will begin.
This is not the first time Xiaomi has brought back a smartphone after flash sales. As a part of festive offer approximately 25,000 Mi 3 smartphones were added automatically to Flipkart carts of people those who tried to buy Mi 3 and failed at least five times or more .

HTC has announced two new Dual SIM smartphones – Desire 620 dual SIM and Desire 620G dual SIM for Taiwan after the Desire 620 leaked recently. Both these have a 5-inch HD IPS display, run on Android 4.4 Kitkat with HTC Sense 6 UI on top, come with a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording, HTC EYE experience and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a BSI sensor.
The main difference is the processor and connectivity. The HTC Desire 620 dual SIM is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor and has 4G LTE support, whereas the Desire 620G dual SIM packs a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor and has 3G connectivity. Both have 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion and a 2100 mAh removable battery. Both have dual-front-facing speakers.

Electronic Arts has announced Need for Speed No Limits, the company’s upcoming game in the Need for Speed for 2015.  Need for Speed Most Wanted game was launched back in October 2012. The game is being developed by Firemonkeys, the studio behind Real Racing 3. It promises fast driving and incredible graphics.
It’s just a racing game, so there is no plot line. The game’s description reads.
