Purported Galaxy S 4 Zoom flaunts its profile in multiple leaks

Purported Galaxy S 4 Zoom flaunts its profile in multiple leaks

Samsung is no stranger to teasing its fans, and with expectations running high that it’ll introduce a true cameraphone — the Galaxy S 4 Zoom — in London on June 20th, you’ll have to forgive us for being more than curious for what’s in store. We’ve already seen a hint of such a device at the FCC, but now it seems that we may be looking at the hybrid phone / camera in all its eyebrow-raising glory. Thanks to SamMobile and TechTastic, we’re treated to purported renders and “in the wild” shots of the Galaxy S 4 Zoom, which line up with expectations that it’ll be based on the Galaxy S 4 Mini. If this is the real deal, in addition to similar specs, it seems that we can expect a dedicated shutter button on the righthand side, which is situated below a volume rocker that’s said to activate the camera’s optical zoom lens. On the opposing side of the cameraphone, you’ll find a dedicated tripod mount. Could this be an intentional leak in response to a similar outing from Nokia? Only time will tell, but we hope to know for sure in the coming days.

Motorola’s flagship Moto X to be out by October

At the D11 conference, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside, confirmed that the smartphone manufacturer that has been keeping a low profile will be out with a new smartphone dubbed the Moto X later this year. Expected to be out by October, the phone is geared to have exceptional power management.
Woodside claims that this will be achieved by the use of dual processors though he did not clarify whether this meant the use of ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture or a physically distinct low power mode chip. Motorola has also been working on the use of low power sensors and the results of that research will be seen in the Moto X which will be a contextually aware handset as claimed by Woodside.
Motorola plans to make the handset at 500,000 sq ft. facility in Texas that was previously occupied by Nokia. Woodside claimed that the company aims to assemble 70% of the handset in the US itself while the processor would be sourced from Taiwan. OLED screens will be manufactured in Korea and will presumably be supplied by Samsung. The Moto X will join a range of handsets that the company plans to launch this year across the price spectrum. The Nokia Lumia 938 has specs that rock and steps up the size of Nokia Lumia device displays to 5.2-inches. This is a beauty of a phone but before we go any further we should tell you that this comes from the imagination of one designer and is not a real upcoming Nokia device. Nevertheless we thought it so impressive that we wanted to share it with you.

As smartphone development seems to be moving in leaps and bounds we sometimes enjoy looking ahead to future possible devices and what they could offer and this is where concept phones can really give us some great ideas. The Nokia Lumia 938 was designed by Juskteez Vu and not only looks stylish (if rather boxy) but also has some mind-blowing specs.

You can see an image of Vu’s concept design below this story and his envisioned Lumia handset is powered by a 2.7GHz dual-core processor, with a 5.2-inch PureMotion high resolution display with 366 ppi, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable to a whopping 128GB via microSD.

It also has a 17-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video recording as well as autofocus and LED flash as well as a front-facing 3-megapixel camera with secret lens. As well as all this the Nokia Lumia 938 has a 3000 mAh battery and wireless charging support and runs Windows Phone 8.8.

We think fans of Nokia’s Lumia smartphones would love to see a Lumia phone with a larger display and would love to hear what you think about the Lumia 938. You may also be interested in another Nokia Lumia concept that we recently showed here.

If the Nokia Lumia 938 were a real smartphone from Nokia would you purchase it? What appeals to you most about this concept design? Let us know with your comments.
